Our new additon is here. Cedarwood Chestnuts Sable Sadie. She arrrived Jan. 20, 2006. She was born Dec 2005. Her dad, Saltmeadow Dickens at Cedarbay, competed for best in show Feb.13, 2006 at Westminster. Dickens will be at Westminster again this year competing. He is the perfect example of what a black labrador is suppose to look and behave like. Cedarwoods Casey, WC is our Sadie's mom. Casey has earned many more titles in the past year. Sadie comes from a long line of Champion show labs and working labs. She fits in perfect and everyone here loves her! We will be working with her to get her therapy dog Titles, WC and CGC..She is smart and beautiful. We waited 15 years for the perfect black girl to come along and are greatful to Nancy Brandow of Cedarwood Labs for allowing her to become part of our Chestnut's Labrador Family. We are also greatful for Marianne Rousseau, the owner of the sire of Sadie's litter. Marianne has many beautiful labradors. Check out Dicken's pedigree and many wonderful pictures below...

Chestnuts Yellow Rose of Serenity, or Rosey, is our newest addition from the breeding of our 6th generation and 20 years of Chestnuts Labs occasional breedings. Rosie was born on Dec. 30, 2005 to our beautiful Ciecie, with Golden Waldo Boy of Barrington as the sire. He is our 5th generation of Chestnuts Labs. He has his Canine Good Citizenship Award and is working on getting his Companion Dog certificate. He is OFA Good, elbows cleared and available at stud to approved females.  

Rose has CH.Pine Edge Shiftin Gears as Grandpa, CH Guidelines Century Condensed x CH Windfalls Black Piper as well as CH West Wind Winchester x CH Pine Edge Sunnybrook Pebbles, and CH Naiad Hurly Burly as her other grandparents. All of these labs have excelled as companions, and have their therapy dog titles as well as Show dog Champions! They can work ..Beauty and Brains all wrapped up in one package. Yellow Rosie is as beautiful as Black Sadie. We will keep you updated on their progress. They are both very smart and very different in personalities. Our Yellow Rose is definitely the alpha, though she is 4 weeks younger, it is very obvious and Sadie is happy to let her be alpha. Our 5 older labs are very happy with the new pups and are working with us to train them to be the best that they can be.

Cedarwood Chestnut Sable Sadie and Chestnuts Classic Rose of Serenity are having new pictures done. Rosie is 10 months old and Sadie will be 1 year old on the 5th of Dec. Their heights are just about there, Rosie is 1 1/2 inches taller, Sadie is 20 1/2 inches at the withers, Rosie is 22 inches. They are both about 60 pounds. They are very mellow at times and they have their crazy puppy moments. They enjoy everything about life. Sadie loves butterflies and being close to me. Rosie is more the explorer. Rosie and Sadie both have very nice blocky heads. They are easy and fun to work with and train. Rosie is more alpha than Sadie, but they are a perfect match as far as friends go. WE love them both the same for different reasons. I hope to get Sadie started at conformation shows soon. Sadie and Rosie could both be Champions, they are my Champion pups.

Rosie such a nice pose, such a good girl. We love her and she is a wonderful addition to our labradors. Rosie represents 17 years and 8 generations of Chestnuts Lab Family. We are as proud of her as we are her beautiful black sister, Sadie. Both Sadie and Rosie will be 1 year old, Dec. 2006.

Chestnuts Shamrock Finnula and Chestnuts Charming Carma Bella are our new additons for late 2006 and 2007. Finnula has Chestnut, Shiloh, Finnegan and Camper for her maternal grandparents and great grandparents. Her Sire is Ocean Spray Noah, aka Clint of Wigwag Labradors. She is a wonderful companion to my grandchildren and Finnegan and Shawnee...Chestnuts Charming Carma Bella was born to Cello x Finnegan Nov. of 2006. She is a beautiful yellow girl and our Bruno's Chesnut Cinnamon Girl, aka, Cindy Loulou's granddaughter and Could be Campers granddaughter. It is so rewarding to watch your lab family grow and improve if possible. Carly is fitting in just wonderful. She is very bright and easy to train. We are enjoying her and Cindy at 13 and 1/2 years old is also, along with momma Cello.
